A two-vehicle accident late Friday morning led to the closure of a section of Owl Creek Road near the Aspen-Pitkin County Airport for about two hours.
The Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office and the Aspen Ambulance District responded to the accident, which occurred around 10:40 a.m., according to emergency dispatchers and sources at the scene.
At least one person was transported to Aspen Valley Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, said Deputy Alex Burchetta, sheriff’s office spokesman.
A tow-truck service was called to clear the road. The incident reportedly involved a head-on collision between two vehicles.
The road was reopened around 12:45 p.m. Colorado State Patrol is investigating the accident.
