Summer operations on Snowmass ski area begin June 22 and include the debut of new attractions in the Lost Forest, highlighted by the canopy zipline tour, challenge course and expanded hiking and biking trails. The Breathtaker alpine coaster, which opened last winter, is also part of Snowmass’ $10 million summer expansion project that “provides guests with the opportunity to be more immersed in the mountain’s alpine environment,” according to a recent announcement from Aspen Skiing Co.
Lost Forest daily access costs $84, which includes lifts and unlimited admittance to the alpine coaster, the Treeline Trial Challenge Course and the Rugged Ascent Climbing Wall (opening in August).
In addition, the Canopy Run Zipline Tour costs $184 and includes free access into the Lost Forest.
During the first week of summer operations, June 22-28, all valid 2017-18 winter passholders will receive one free Lost Forest daily admission, including the alpine coaster and the treeline challenge course, as well as one free lift haul ticket to the Snowmass Bike Park.
Passholders during this time will also receive half off on the canopy tour, half off on downhill bike rentals and $10 off “Park Ready” clinics, according to the announcement. A June 26 specialty dinner at Elk Camp restaurant and extended operating hours that week for the Lost Forest and the Snowmass Bike Park are planned.
Bike haul will end at dusk and the Lost Forest will close at 8 p.m. that week. Gondola access will be free for foot passengers after 4 p.m. and discounted evening pricing will be in effect for both the Snowmass Bike Park ($29 late arrival ticket for use after 2 p.m.) and the Lost Forest ($59 unlimited Lost Forest Access, except the Canopy Run Zipline Tour).
The Lost Forest will operate daily until Sept. 3. Throughout September, it will be open weekends.
Passholders may redeem by stopping into the gondola ticket office in Base Village for Lost Forest and lift access, and the Four Mountain Sports in Base Village for clinic reservations and rentals beginning June 22, according to the announcement. Or go to aspensnowmass.com for additional information.
