An accidental fire Saturday evening in a residence in the Aspen-Basalt Mobile Home Park caused extensive fire, smoke and water damage, and left it uninhabitable.

The cause was deemed accidental, and a person who responded to a reporter Sunday said they could not comment further. The estimated dollar damage was unavailable, but the majority of the contents inside were destroyed or damaged, a press release says.

Firefighters were called to 1900 Willits Lane on the report of a structure fire, and while resources were responding the address was updated to 210 Homestead Drive. Firefighters got on scene within nine minutes.

Crews were able to knock down the fire at 8:41 p.m., preventing further spread to adjacent structures. Multiple apparatus and 20 personnel worked for several hours to extinguish the fire and perform extensive overhaul operations.

The fire was accidental, authorities said. No details on the cause were made available Sunday evening. No injuries were reported.
