U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet, D-Colo., will be in Aspen this evening for a meet-and-greet event at Pitkin County Library’s Dunaway Community Room.

The event, from 6-7:30 p.m., is free and open to all registered voters in the Roaring Fork Valley, according to a notice from county Democratic Party chairman Howie Wallach. The library is located at 120 N. Mill St.

“This is a perfect opportunity to hear Senator Bennet’s insights on a host of current issues and to engage with him by asking your most thoughtful questions,” the notice says.

Wallach also wrote that Gov. Jared Polis will provide a legislative update at the home of Blanca and Cavanaugh O’Leary, 1500 Silver King Drive in Aspen, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. on Sept. 7.

“The past session of the Colorado Legislature was amazingly fruitful,” according to Wallach. “Governor Polis is particularly proud of the campaign promises he has kept and is clear about what he means to achieve in the next session. As with Senator Bennet’s visit, this is a very special opportunity to spend time with one of the most important political leaders in Colorado today.”

Wallach asked that those planning to attend RSVP to pitkincountydemocrats@outlook.com.
