The body of a 60-year-old woman who was believed to have been living in her vehicle was discovered Wednesday in Glenwood Springs, according to the Garfield County Coroner’s Office.
The coroner’s office was dispatched to the vehicle’s location at 2450 South Glen Ave. on Wednesday. Release of the woman’s name is pending notification of next of kin and may take several days, according to a news release from Coroner Robert Glassmire.
The woman was believed to have been “a local to the Garfield County area for some time,” Glassmire’s release says.
The last known time she was alive was Sunday evening. When discovered on Wednesday, she had been deceased for several days, according to the release.
The coroner’s office is investigating the death as natural. The Glenwood Springs Police Department assisted the investigation.
