American rock mega-hit maker Weezer has been announced as the Friday headliner for this summer’s Jazz Aspen Snowmass Labor Day Experience festival.
Weezer will perform on Friday, Aug. 30 with previously announced Portugal. The Man. The festival continues on Saturday, Aug. 31 with John Mayer and opening acts Luke Combs, plus just announced 3 p.m. band ZZ Ward. Sting will close the weekend as the headliner on Sunday, Sept. 1 with special guests still to be announced.
Single day general admission tickets will go on-sale Monday at 9 a.m. at $110 (plus service charge) for Friday and $140 for Saturday and Sunday. Prices do not include service charges. Limited Early Bird Three-Day passes are available now for $240, plus service fee, but once those are gone, which is expected to happen soon, the price jumps to $280. Weezer’s latest album, “Teal,” just hit No. 1 on both Billboard’s Top Rock and Top Alternative Albums Charts. The band has sold over 9.2 million albums in the U.S. and over 17 million records worldwide. Their catalog includes hits “Buddy Holly,” “Undone (The Sweater Song),” “Say It Ain’t So,” “Hash Pipe,” “Beverly Hills,” and several more.
In January they released the “Teal Album,” the ultimate covers collection with remakes of classic songs by TOTO, Tears for Fears, the Eurythmics, Black Sabbath, Michael Jackson and more. In addition to toping Billboard’s Rock and Alternative Album Charts, it has also reached No. 5 on their Top 100 List. The band has plans to release another album, the “Black Album,” in March.
