On Thursday, the Eagle County Planning Commission will decide the fate of yet another large, high-density development in the midvalley called The Fields.

My guess is the 320 units already approved right down the highway at the Tree Farm won’t be enough to satisfy Eagle County’s insatiable appetite for growth.

Of course if the people of the midvalley got to actually vote on this unneeded development I have no doubt it would be rejected overwhelmingly. But unfortunately past history has proven that Eagle County doesn’t really care what the majority of its citizens want. You see, they know what’s best for us better than we do ourselves.

I know it’s getting really old but if you can, please show up at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Eagle County building at Crown Mountain Park to voice your opinion, or send an e-mail before Thursday to eaglecounty.us/planning. The greed-head land developers are counting on your silence.
