The college admissions scandal involves two Aspen-area couples, Gregory and Marcia Abbott and Felicity Huffman and William Macy. They cheated their daughters’ way into elite universities. Many parents work hard at teaching good old American values of honor, fair play and decency to their children. Seeing this conduct go on around them devalues everything they are trying to impart. The cheaters are disgusting, and they should be ashamed. I’m hoping they admit to and apologize openly for their failures, so some recognition of real values can be restored.
