Editor:

When Jeff Sessions was nominated to be attorney general he was unfairly attacked, as he had been when he was nominated years earlier to the U.S. Court of Appeals. Almost two years ago, at the time of his nomination to attorney general, I wrote my personal recollections of his service, and collaborative work with us in the FBI, as Assistant U.S. Attorney and as the U.S. Attorney in Mobile, Alabama.

Now forced out, by a President he loved and tried to serve, I am reminded of another great lawyer, in a similar position: Thomas Moore said — as he was to be executed on the orders of Henry VIII —  “I only wish that I had served my God as well as I have served my King.”

Jeff Sessions always served his country.
